Generally, we aim to get most reports finalised within 2-3 days of completion of fieldwork. However, times can vary depending on the nature and complexity of the report. Your assigned manager will be able to provide an estimate for any specific report.
Geotechnical reports vary in cost depending on the scope of work and complexity of site/developments, this could include basement excavations, swimming pools or geotechnically complex sites. At BHM Geotechnical we understand the Geotechnical requirements for the project and carefully tender for each project to save you money and time. For more information on quotations and Geotechnical related questions see our contact us page and fill out the enquiry form.
A geotechnical investigation usually consists of a detailed 'walk-over' site inspection followed by an investigation of the sub-soil profile in accordance with Australian Standards AS 1726.
Geotechnical reports are prepared to provide geotechnical data, such as site conditions and associated matters for the planning and design of your development.
A Preliminary Site Investigation (PSI) consists of a desktop study and detailed 'walk-over' site inspection to determine the potential for site contamination. Where the results of a PSI demonstrate the potential for contamination, a Detailed Site Investigation (DSI) should be undertaken, consisting of an assessment to determine the level of risk posed by the contaminants to human health and the environment through laboratory testings of the sub-soil profile.
We currently service areas within NSW and VIC (Not including Site Classification).
Geotechnical reports remain valid for the site unless there is a change to the proposed development or site conditions, these changes could include but are not limited to planting trees, soil excavation and filling on site.
Resolving geotechnical related problems quickly can assist in avoiding costly remedial works down the line. Usual indicators of geotechnical issues could include ground movement, moving or failing retaining walls, cracks appearing in the land surface, walls or footings, and excessive groundwater seepage.
